Route every Steam achievement in one prologue run — including missable beads before Kohakujō.

All Achievements

Akatori: Chapter One includes exactly nine Steam achievements. None are bugged or hidden behind paid DLC — but several are missable if you enter Kohakujō too early or skip merchants and destructible walls in the Emerald Peaks. This guide presents a completion-friendly order, explains each trophy, and points to specialized pages for the hardest two: Pray, Pray, Pray (all prayer beads) and Invincible (no-damage Takatsugu).

For a compact checklist with Steam API names, also open Chapter One achievements. Use this page when you want routing context and cross-links.

Global Steam stats show Invincible and Pray, Pray, Pray among the rarest — plan them deliberately instead of hoping for accidental completion.

Early story (automatic or easy)

Fateful Encounter pops when Mako receives the staff during the prologue tutorial. You cannot miss it unless you quit before the cutscene finishes.

Journey to the Other World triggers upon reaching Kohakujō. Do not rush here until bead and relic hunting in the Emerald Peaks is done — see the next sections.

Emerald Peaks side goals before Kohakujō

Mako the Impaler requires knocking an enemy into a spike trap. Lure a goat or ambush predator near environmental spikes instead of chasing it deep into safe terrain. Combat arenas with pre-placed hazards work best.

No worse than pineapple pizza comes from eating the Weird Soup — an optional interactable with humorous flavor text. Locate it during Emerald Peaks exploration; skipping optional rooms can delay or soft-lock convenience if you never backtrack.

Wait, was that here before? unlocks when you discover a secret passage. Break suspicious walls, check behind waterfalls, and revisit areas after acquiring new traversal tools. Some passages hide merchants or beads.

Enlightenment demands every relic in Chapter One. Relics function as collectible ability items tied to exploration milestones. Systematically sweep each biome branch before crossing to Kohakujō; the Chapter One walkthrough marks major branches.

Pray, Pray, Pray requires eight prayer beads. Several come from merchants (Healing Bead, Fortifying Bead, etc.), others hide behind breakable walls or vertical climbs. Follow the dedicated Prayer Beads page — it is the most important pre-Kohakujō checklist because at least one bead becomes unavailable after you leave.

Kohakujō and finale

After intentional backtracking, enter Kohakujō for Journey to the Other World if it has not popped already.

Freedom for the Bird unlocks when you defeat Takatsugu the Sentinel at the prologue climax. Use Beat Takatsugu for strategy.

Invincible is the same fight with zero damage taken. Attempt it after a normal clear when attack patterns are muscle memory. Pair Takatsugu boss notes with conservative dodge-first gameplay; stagger trades are too risky for many players.

Missable pitfalls explained

The Steam community guide community consistently warns: reach Kohakujō only after bead hunting. Merchant stock in the Emerald Peaks includes prayer beads that do not reappear in Kohakujō shops. Likewise, certain secret rooms sit behind walls you must break before the story gate encourages forward-only progress.

Bell interactions can interfere with optional achievements — if a guide mentions “Stop, Was It Really Like That?” style choices, read the interactable before ringing. Chapter One achievement names on Steam use Wait, was that here before? for secret passages; bell-related easter eggs may affect optional content differently per patch.

Speedrun versus 100% run timing

A rushed story clear in 60 minutes might only net five achievements. A thorough single run collecting beads, relics, secrets, and soup typically lands at 90–120 minutes. Adding Invincible practice may push total time to three hours across multiple Takatsugu attempts — normal for a skill trophy.

Demo achievements note

The separate Akatori traversal demo does not share this nine-achievement set. Demo players chasing Serpent or Bumblebee mastery should ignore this page unless they also own Chapter One on Steam.

When the full Akatori release ships, expect a new achievement list across many biomes. This guide will remain the Chapter One prologue reference until expanded.
